Wearable Art Exhibit and Reception
in Burlington

Simon Malls in Burlington did their part in participating in this year's Boston Fashion Week by hosting the Wearable Art Exhibit from the student designers of The Mass College of Art. The students put together some amazing designs using non textile materials. Thirty of the best were chosen by Mass Art fashion design professor Jayne Avery. The exhibit was shown for three weeks and Oct. 10th will be its final day.

The reception party was held on October 3rd in front of Nordstrom where five lucky student designers had their dresses modeled by some of our local celebrities plus one famous Real Housewife from NYC.

Alexandra Hall from Fashion Boston wore a dress made of wires and cords. Tonya Mezrich from Style Boston wore a dress made of yellow measuring tape with matching hair pieces. Candy O'Terry from local radio Mix 106.7 wore, fittingly enough, a dress made from records. Alex McCord, one of the Real

Housewives of NYC made a special guest appearance. She wore a dress that was brilliantly knitted together from cassette tape material.

With the success of the fashion events hosted by Simon Malls during our fashion week this year, we can surly expect more shows and events for next year and I for one can't wait to see them.
