Marilyn Riseman hosts:
Michael De Paulo Spring 2009 Couture Luncheon

by Ian L.

As one of Boston's most stylish individuals, the legendary Marilyn Riseman has excellent taste when it comes to fashion. The former buyer and owner of  fine fashion retail establishments has a knack for finding the best talents. From time to time, Marilyn showcases those talents by hosting special events.

This time around, she's more than happy to host local couture designer Michael De Paulo at an informal fashion luncheon at Brasserie Jo.

Michael De Paulo is one of our best couture designers in Boston. The former Northeastern graduate has developed exquisite evening gowns that makes use of his masters degree in architecture.
Michael De Paulo poses with Tonya Mezrich (headband), the wife of Author Ben Mezrich and is recognized as one of Boston's most stylish people.
Architectural shapes and forms combined with elements of pleating and ruching along with rich and colorful fabrics such as satin, taffeta and lace is without a doubt, Michael's signature look.

One of Michael's favorites for his new Spring 2009 collection is a pleated, floor length gown with a sweet-heart neckline. It's cut in a striking yellow, floral printed fabric with highlights of lavender and green. The gown is very festive and it easily becomes the center of attention at any party.

Another one of Michael's favorites (and one of mine as well) is the grand red, tiered and pleated, strapless evening gown accentuated with a satin obi at the waistline. Michael considers it to be a very dramatic showpiece. This is the type of gown that can turn heads at even the Oscar's Red Carpet.

Speaking of red carpets, Michael De Paulo gowns have been recently spotted on daytime soap stars Michelle Ray Smith and Gina Gognoni.

Michael De Paulo gowns are available at select specialty boutiques nationwide such as Kleinfeld Bridal in New York. Special orders can also be made at luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue.
