Fashion Boston and Ovations for the Cure host:
Fashion at Terrida

by Ian J Larraga

It's another fun-filled fashion event fundraiser from Ovations for the Cure. The charity organization that helps to raise funds and awareness for the cure of ovarian cancer joined forces with the Boston Globe's fashion magazine, Fashion Boston and Italian luxury leather goods maker and retailer, Terrida to put on a fabulous show.

Terrida's first new store near Boston's Taj Hotel on Arlington St. was the show's setting. Terrida has a global presence with shops in Italy and the United States and the company's leather goods are sold in Neiman Marcus, Harrods in the U.K., Harvey Nichols in Dubai, Isetan in Japan and Mitsukoshi in Japan. For the fashion show, we saw a mix of luxury leather goods including handbags and travel bags as well as luxury clothing from Terrida's fashion label. The clothes are also made in Italy. Terrida also carries a line of officially licensed luxury leather goods for nearby Harvard University.

The fashion show drew in a spirited crowd. Models posed in a few locations including the shop window which also helped to gather an enthusiastic crowd on the street. The evening was hosted by Editor-in-Chief of Fashion Boston, Alexandra Hall. On the scene to enjoy the show were a few of our local designers, Nara Paz and Daniela Corte.

Continuing Ovations founder Patricia Franchi Flaherty's vision of combining her love of fashion and fundraising, Ovations for the Cure is setting the local standard for fashion fundraising events. Upcoming shows can be found on the Ovations website. We can do our part to help support the cause by attending the shows and having a good time.
