Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York:
Carolina Herrera Fall 2010 Collection
For as long as I've known fashion, Carolina Herrera has always been one of my favorite designers. She always manages to blend her many artistic inspirations with her luxurious designs. She's one of the early designers to design exclusively for the "Ladies Who Lunch" and yet, she herself was one of said ladies.
Of course, being one of said ladies gave Carolina greater insights into what the "well to do" prefer to wear. At times, she'd only need to design for herself and others would follow.
For the Fall of 2010 collection, Carolina toned down her artistic side and turned up her luxurious side. There were so many great pieces to choose from.
Among my favorites was a must have brown leather jacket with satin sleeves and slim waistline belt, all the coats and jackets with the fur trims and practically every dress and gown.
I also loved the color palette of reds, grays, beige, blues and deep yellows.
All and all, it was a fabulous, ladylike collection and if I were a buyer of a major retailer, I would snatch it all up.
